One Last Belly Pic

I am getting down to the last few days of this pregnancy and Jess is getting down to her last few weeks.  We decided we needed a comparison picture of our big bellies:
I don't know whose belly is bigger!  But you can definitely tell that I have dropped and am closer to delivery.  It has been so fun to be pregnant at the same time as Jess.  We have been able to compare our pregnancies and complain about the same things together like not being able to pick stuff up off the ground and having to sleep with a million pillows and having to pee every 10 minutes.  We can laugh at all of the fun experiences and it is fun to feel the babies move.  It is also fun because Jess has always been more of a sister than a niece and we all consider her one of the sisters.  I hope our two boys will be as good of friends as we have been.

I went to the doctor today and he said I was still not very close to delivery.  But I have progressed!  I am now 50% effaced and dilated to a 2! Yeah!  Anyway because I tested positive for the Group B Strep, Dr Astle thought it would be best if I was induced so that we could be sure to get the Antibiotics on board with enough time before I delivered.  I was okay with that too so I am scheduled to be induced on Friday Feb 1.  We will meet our new little one by the end of the week!

Waiting for Baby

We are still waiting for Baby to make his grand entrance into the world.  My official due date is January 30 which is 4 days away! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy has gone by.  And I can't believe I have less than a week to go!  Am I ready? Yes and No. I am not ready in that I am scared to have three kids!  I really don't know what to expect with three.  Everyone tells me that the transition from two to three was really hard because you are now out numbered.  You have two hands, and  two parents, but now you have three kids to manage.  I am hoping and praying this baby will be an easy baby like Colby was.  Really good natured and just content to eat and sleep and be loved on.  On the other hand, I am ready in that all of the baby clothes are washed, all of the baby stuff is out of storage, and all of my planned baby projects are complete.  Here are a few things I have been working on:

Of course we needed a car seat canopy.  I love the cute little zoo animals.  I am mad though that I cut the fabric the wrong direction so the animals are sideways.  Oh well I wasn't buying more fabric and really once I got it put together it didn't really look that bad.  I also made a couple more receiving blankets and burp cloths.  We really already have a bunch of receiving blankets from Colby but I figured the new baby needed at least a couple that were his own and not hand-me-downs.

My diaper bag from Colby was getting really hashed and dirty so I decided to make a new one.  Now that I will have three kids, the bag needed to be really big to hold all of our stuff and the baby stuff too.  Well one thing about this bag, it is really BIG!
As you can see it holds a lot of stuff.  There is a center divider in it so the baby stuff can go on one side and all of my stuff can go on the other side.  There are a lot of inside pockets as well as four big outside pockets.  I also added a bit to the pattern by adding an inside loop and clip to clip my keys on so they do not get lost inside the never ending depths of the bag.  I also added a small pouch to put the baby's pacifier in so that it will stay clean and not get lost in the bag either.  I love the colors of the fabric and even though it is huge, I am excited to use it.

Here are some things I made to put in the bag:
First, I made this diaper and wipes pouch.  One side of the pouch holds the travel wipes case and the other holds the diapers.  This way if we need a diaper change, I just have to grab this pouch and go.  Second, is the travel changing pad. I found these really cute Fire Fighter fabrics in the remnant piles so they were only about a dollar each.  I told Russell I made these things with Fire Fighter fabric so that means the diaper changing is his job!  And finally a Nursing cover.  A definite must have in a diaper bag for those feeding on the go.

Finally I made some little baby Toms for the baby and a bigger pair to match for Colby.  I also made a matching pair of the baby ones for Jessica's baby too.  They turned out way cute:

And to match the shoes, I made all of kids matching clothes for church.  I think they turned out so cute.  I can't help be think the little pants and shoes look like old man clothes!  But I also think that is why they are so cute because they are mini old man clothes.  Traci said I should find a couple of those old man hats to go with them.  Emily is really excited about her new dress too.  It is a little brighter that the boy's clothes but that is OK if she stands out a bit because she is the only girl.

I am also am ready to have the baby because I am tired of not being able to bend over to pick something up off the floor!  Luckily I have Little's that can reach stuff on the floor much easier than I can.  Emily and Colby are great helpers that way.  At my last doctor's appointment though  I was still only dilated to a 1 and only about 50% effaced.  Dr Astle asked me if I wanted to be induced or just go naturally.  I told him I didn't really care either way.  I would prefer to go naturally but whatever he thought was better.  He said it is better to go naturally then when he checked me he said I wasn't even ready to be induced yet.  So I go back to the doctor on Monday and we will see if anything has changed.  By then, I will be close enough to the due date we can decide what to do.  In the meantime, I have been working 10-11 hours a day trying to get everything done with my clients' year end accounting and tax returns.  I am pretty sure I won't get everything done (especially the tax returns) but I want to get them as close as possible so that I don't add too much to my great co-workers' tax season load.

Other than that, we are just waiting and praying for a healthy baby (oh and trying to decide on the perfect name).

Colby's New Room

We finally got the boy's room put together! Now we officially have a girl room and a boy room.  Russell was off for a few days so he painted all of the walls white and it totally brightened up the room.  We had an eggshell white on the walls before and I thought that was okay but the room is so much lighter with this pure white color on it.  Then when I got home from work, we put up the truck wallpaper boarder and the little car and truck decals on the walls.  I really like how the room turned out.

Colby really liked his new room.  He points to all of the cars on the walls and the airplanes and his favorite, the trains above the closet.  He also loves his big boy bed.  He tells me all the time that he is a big boy because he has a big boy bed and wears big boy shorts.  That's right we finally potty trained him.  We started on January 1 as our New Year resolution and he was potty trained within the week!  We are so happy we don't have to change diapers anymore (at least until the new baby comes that is.)  He potty trained really fast so I don't know why we waited so long.  He even stays dry during the night!  He is a big boy!

Anyway here are more pictures of the room:

I made this valance about a year ago when I finished Colby's quilt but never had anywhere to put it.  Now I do.  I think these little truck decals and wallpaper border are so cute and really add to the room.  Above the baby's crib the wall is a little bare but as soon as we decide on a name, we will put it there but we haven't decided yet.  Hey we still have a couple weeks.
Speaking of Colby, here is a funny picture of him that I took during breakfast this morning.  He has decided he likes getting undressed by himself. This is his way of telling me he is done with breakfast and ready to get dressed.  And Emily was laughing so hard at him that he thought he was so tricky!

Welcoming 2013!

Welcome 2013!  We have another exciting year ahead of us.  2012 was a good year full of a new career as a Fire Fighter, new calling as Primary President, trips to Fish Lake and Oregon, continual learning and growth for the kids, and finding out we are expecting our third child!  We are looking forward to this new year as one of more adventures.  The first thing we are looking forward to is welcoming our third child in about a month!  This pregnancy has gone by really fast for me it seems.

I don't have any big new years resolutions this year.  I would like to just relax and not stress out so much which will be interesting to learn how to do especially after adding another kid!  One resolution I have for Colby is to get potty trained.  A resolution I have for Emily is to learn her numbers.  She knows her letters great but now we need to work on the numbers.  She can count to 20 but has a hard time recognizing the numbers and writing them so that is our goal this year.  Russell's goal this year is to stay in shape and avoid sweets!

To celebrate the New Year, the White's in our ward invited us over to play games.  We had a fun time.  We brought pizza and some other treats for dinner.  Emily and Colby love playing with their boys and they had fun watching movies, doing a craft, and "playing" Go Fish and Crazy Eights.  The adults had fun playing Catch Phrase and Scategories.  It was nice to get out of the house and hang out with some other couples.  By the time it was 10 pm we called it a night and headed home.  They wanted to put their kids to bed and we needed to also.  I worked all day that day on W-2's and end of the year payroll quarterlies so I was tired too and had a major headache.  Unfortunately being pregnant you can't take anything at least I don't know if you can so I just wanted to go to bed.  I laid down with Colby and we were both out within minutes.  Poor Russell had to ring in the New Year alone.  He did it by watching Hunger Games!  I woke up slightly at 11:59 and heard the city's fireworks go off but was still too tired to get up and watch.  Russell said they were good.  Well we are definitely the party-ers aren't we?!

Well we are ready for the new year and I finally got some baby projects done so I am a little more ready for the new baby too.  Welcome 2013!
