Other Fun Things

We have been having some fun over the past few weeks despite getting the bad news from the doctor.  It was definitely a shock to our family but we have been trying to be as normal as possible.  Here are a few random fun pictures of the things we have been doing:

It is funny what you will find when you walk in the door from working outside. Mom's have to find a stress relief sometime, and this is what I found Tiffany doing. I was laughing so hard when I saw this.  I guess Lego's aren't just for kids.  The next funny picture is this pretty little super hero. The boys were playing superheros and I borrowed Colby's Captain America mask and put it on Charlotte. She was so excited to put it on. All of us laughed when we saw her wearing it. She was a really good sport. She did not even cry while she wore it.

While I was at work Mom and the boys had a great time making homemade forts. They had a great time sleeping in them for about a week. Logan's was in the front room and we had to take it down and make another one by his bunk bed. He was excited that he got to sleep in his bed. I got his blanket and draped it over his bed. What a great fun week. Colby pretty much moved into his fort.

It is finally warming up and the snow is gone. YEAH!!!! We took full advantage of the sunny weather. We played outside all day and absorbed the sun. They are learning to climb the trees in the yard. All three were proud they got to climb up the tree. Colby loved his own tree by the slide and he was excited he did it all on his own.

Another fun day in the sun. The last few days in the wonderful Cache Valley has been rain almost every other day. Saturday was a great day. We listened to General Conference and had a great time. After the last session, the kids wanted to do a drink stand. So they did it. Emily loved getting it ready to go. We made a sign and made grape juice. They sold them for 50 cents. Colby, Carson and the neighborhood kids had fun advertising and drinking the juice. Once Emily got done she got $9.50. She split it between the kids and she got $4 dollars. Not bad for a couple of hours. She was way excited she finally got to do this.
The school talent show was a few days ago.  Emily wanted to be in the talent show again this year so she practiced her piano piece really well.  As part of her piano lessons, Emily participated in AIM which is a performance, theory, ear training, and sight reading recital.  For this performance she learned two songs and chose one of them, "Dancing, " to perform for the talent show.  She auditioned and made it into the final show.  Emily did very well on her song and she was so excited to perform.
This picture is of all the girls in their matching Hawaiian muumuus.  Everyone at church thought they were so cool! It was fun to be twinners.

One downside (among many) of breast cancer is that Charlotte had to be weaned and given a bottle with baby formula.  Fortunately though, she was very good at taking the bottle which made it a bit easier.  But I guess it is not all bad because the kids have loved being able to help feed Charlotte her bottles.  Charlotte has loved being held by everyone too.  As long as she is being fed, she doesn't care how she gets it.

These kids love building and creating things.  Colby is the master builder of Lego's, Lincoln Logs, and any blocks.  Here is his village of things he built in his room.  Next we went to a family craft day at the Hyrum Museum and decorated aprons with markers.  The ladies told us to put our own "logo" on apron. We each wrote something that we loved.  Russell drew the LCFD logo.  I drew a pot of flowers and had each of the kids put their hand print on it. Emily drew a piano and some other things about her.  Colby wanted to draw a bee and a beehive.  Logan just colored and scribbled all over his apron.  It was really fun doing crafts together.
Finally, this little duckling was our new pet for about 30 minutes.  Russell found this duckling in the middle of the road while he was at the fire station.  He caught the duck and his crew took it in and named it 72.  Then when shift was over Russell brought 72 home to us.  The kids loved her and played with her for a while before we needed to get ready for school.  Then tragedy struck.  The duckling got out of its box while we were inside and must have ran over to the neighbor's yard.  We found the poor baby duck eaten in the neighbor's dog kennel.  We were so sad.  This is why we don't have any pets, we always end up losing them.  The kids were so sad too.

Well other than the duck and the news from the doctor, we have had some fun adventures over the last few weeks.
