Can you believe this handsome guy is 5 years old?
This week we celebrated Logan's 5th birthday. He was so excited for his birthday and helped me plan everything. When I asked him what he wanted for his birthday he said he wanted to have all of his friends over. So we did. Logan's birthday was on Thursday but we decided to have his friend birthday party on Friday because there was no school.
On Thursday we celebrated Logan's birthday as a family at his favorite restaurant, Pizza Pie Cafe.
The kids love this place and it is great because we always get coupons for them to eat there for free. The best part is that they can get whatever they want. My favorite is the dessert pizzas. We had a great time as a family.
We also had to go to Logan's favorite dessert place, Yogurtland. He loved his frozen yogurt and all of the great toppings. This was Charlotte's first time at Yogurtland and she loved tasting all of the different kinds of yogurt in the tiny sample cups.
When we got home, Logan didn't want to wait for his party to open his presents, he wanted to open them on his actual birthday.
He loved everything he got especially his new Rollerblades. He also got some shades, and a soccer ball to help him practice for soccer this Spring.
Charlotte decided to get her head stuck in the soccer ball's box. She thought she was so funny walking around with a box on her head.
Friday was the big birthday party. Logan decided he wanted a monster themed party with his friends.
The cake was super easy to make but as soon as I took it out of the pan, it split. I thought great how am I going to fix this other than with a ton of frosting. Then I thought, this is a perfect split for a mouth for my monster! So that is what it turned out to be. A mess up turned good again. It even cracked in a smile! For the party favors for the guests, I made little sock monsters for each of them They turned out really cute and I loved all of their expressions. I also put in their bags some monster bubbles and a play dough "Make Your Own Monster" kit. Russell made the pinata and it turned out perfect too.
Logan really liked the Mike Wizowski monster I drew for the "Pin the Eye on the Monster" game. He was so excited for his friends to get here; he could hardly wait for 2 o'clock.
Finally everyone showed up right on time and the party started.
While everyone was arriving and for the first few minutes of the party, we colored and made monster puppets with big mouths. I then glued them onto paper bags and the kids ran around roaring at each other with their monster puppets.
"Roar!" They all loved their puppets. As they were running around, they found a bunch of monsters all over our house! Luckily they were able to capture and find all 12 and save our house from an invasion.
Next we played "Pin the Eye on the Monster."
The kids had a good time with this game and would laugh so hard after seeing where they placed their eye.
Then it was time to "Feed the Monster." This monster loved eating bean bags.
The kids loved feeding the monster bean bags too. They played this game for quite a while and each kid fed the monster multiple times.
Then it was present time:
Logan received some pretty awesome gifts from all of his friends. He especially loved his new Transformer from Lucy and the five Paw Patrol Beanie Boos he got from Deacon. He was so nice to all of his friends telling them all "Thank You so Much!" and he was so excited about everything he received.
Finally it was time for cake and ice cream:
The kids thought the monster cake was pretty cool even with the funny mouth. We all sang "Happy Birthday" to Logan and he blew out the candle.
All of the kids had blue mouths after eating their cake. They also all loved the monster faces on their cups. They liked to scare each other with their cups as they ate.
Charlotte and Colby loved the cake and ice cream too. Charlotte was completely blue by the time she was done.
Before everyone went home, we did the pinata in the garage. All the kids whacked that thing so hard but luckily it lasted until everyone had at least one turn.
When it finally broke, kids were scrambling for candy all over the place. They loved it.
It was a really fun birthday and Logan had a blast with all of his friends. They loved every minute.
Happy Birthday Buddy! We love you!
