Disneyland Day 2

Here we are on day two at the Happiest Place on Earth. So we got up to Magic Morning where we were able to get into the park an hour earlier to ride the rides before it got really busy, but when we got to the park entrance, there was a bigger line than the day before! Oh well we finally got in and got our picture taken in front of the park entrance.
The kids were way excited to wear their Mickey ears all day today. So here they are with their cool hats ready for day 2. As we entered the park the first person we saw was Goofy! This is Dad's favorite character. I am glad the kids got to see him.

Good ol' Goofy was being goofy with the kids. We got his autograph and he gave each of the kids a high five.

We decided to spend most of the day in Fantasy Land today because we missed it yesterday.  The first ride we did was the Peter Pan ride.  While we were waiting in line, we got to see Peter Pan.
The kids were once again excited to see him. He did a great job playing his part. Then Captain Hook showed up and it was funny to hear the two giving each other a hard time and make funny comments to each other. The Peter Pan ride was the busiest ride which is why we decided to get it done first and the kids had a great time. This ride took us flying through London and all around Never Land.

What would our trip to Disneyland be if we did not ride the Tea Cups? Before we left for Disneyland Russell told the kids that he was not going to go on the Tea Cups. Emily agreed with him that they did not want to get sick. When it was time to get on the ride, however, Emily and Russell were persuaded to go on the ride. We had a great time on the ride and both of them were glad they went on it.

This ride was so fun for the boys and Charlotte.  They were smiling the whole time telling me to go faster and faster.  Even now as I am writing, Charlotte is pointing to the picture of the teacups and saying "The cups were so fun!"  Logan and Colby were not scared at all to go on this ride.  They loved every minute.

Since we started our day with spinning we kept it going and headed for the carousel ride.
This was Charlotte's  favorite ride. She loves sitting on the horses, going up and down and around in circles. As you can tell from the kids faces they are having a great time on Tea Cups and the Carousel ride. I think we went twice for Charlotte. This area of the park was great for Charlotte because she got to go on the majority of the rides instead of missing out and waiting for us to go on the rides.

When I was a kid I remembered trying to pull out the Excalibur. I have always wanted to show the kids the Excalibur.

We all had our chance to pull on it and try to get it out. Even Charlotte had to have a chance to pull the sword out of the stone. She even wanted to help Logan pull it out. We were all bummed because we were not chosen to pull it out.

During our many bathroom breaks and our walks back and forth, we got to see more characters and have the boys sign the books. This time they got to meet Gaston from Beauty and the Beast. He was funny because he was always talking about how great he was and how good he looked. He asked us if we had seen Belle. He also asked the boys what they had for breakfast. Gaston told them he ate 5 dozen eggs every morning to help get strong.

During another bathroom break the boys met the Evil Queen from Snow White. She was funny because she was very snotty and short with the kids just like the Evil Queen acts in the story. When it was time for a picture, I told them to smile. She told me she didn't smile because it causes wrinkles in her skin and she was not a happy person. Thank goodness for bathroom breaks they came in handy to see these characters.  At first I was getting sick of them and how we took one kid and then another had to go after. Finally we did a lump sum bathroom breaks. If one person had to go everyone had to go. This worked great.  Charlotte did really well for just being potty trained.  She had no accidents the whole time we were on the trip.

While we were walking around, we went into the Bibbity-Bobbity Boutique store and this little girl found herself a new friend.
She loves Minnie Mouse as you can see. She did not want to let it go.

We once again got lucky and we were just in the right place at the right time. They were getting ready to open up a line to meet all of the Disney Princesses so we jumped in line. The girls were excited to see all of them. We started out with Belle and then went inside to see the other Princesses.

Emily had the biggest smile on her face when she met each princess. The boys had a good time also even though they were princesses.
We got to meet Belle, Snow White, Cinderella, and Ariel.  They were so nice and friendly and made the kids feel like they were the most important kids in the world.  We told Belle that Gaston was looking for her and she said she had been trying to avoid him all day.

We went on a ton of fun rides this day. As our Fast Pass tickets times came available we were off to the Matterhorn and Space Mountain. The kids thought Splash Mountain was fun until they got done with Matterhorn and Space Mountain, and then these were their new favorite rides. They were once again excited to be able to go on each of them twice. The Matterhorn was a fun roller coaster that took us up the mountain in a bobsled and then we had to out run the yeti living in the mountain so that he didn't eat us.  Logan loved this ride and I think it was his favorite.

Space Mountain was Colby's new favorite ride.  It was so fast and completely in the dark the whole time as you imagined you were blasting off into space with just the stars as your light.
Colby, Logan and I look like we were having fun. Emily has a funny face of I am here and I am not scared. They loved Space Mountain as you can tell from the pictures. Russell was doing great until they started going up and there were spinning lights everywhere and that got his dizzy spell started. He held it back and did good. He thought for a minute he was going to be sick but he made it through.

While waiting for the kids and me to go on a rides, this cute girl and Russell got to hang out.
Russell took these random pictures of Charlotte. Charlotte is great at facial expressions and he tried to see if he could get some of them out of her. He ask her to show him a happy face, a sad face, a mad face and then a kissy face. She did all of these faces within seconds of each other. We laughed so hard at her. Then at the end she showed her puppy face skills.

We picked the perfect place to eat lunch that day because the Disneyland quartet band came up and started to play music right behind us. They played Mary Poppins and a couple other fun songs. Once our tummies were full, we off to the races again.
We split up again and while Russell took the boys for a ride, Emily and Charlotte got to go see Tinker Bell. The first day they asked multiple times if we could go see her, so we finally made it that way.  Before seeing Tinkerbell, we got to walk through Pixie Hollow.  The garden and water features were really beautiful.  Charlotte loved pointing out all of the fairies she saw and Emily grabbed the camera and started taking pictures of everything.
After walking through Pixie Hollow, we finally made it to Tinkerbell!  Charlotte was so excited she kept saying "Tinkerbell! Tinkerbell!"  She ran right up to her and handed Tinkerbell her autograph book.

Tinkerbell really made Emily's and Charlotte's day. Emily got Charlotte watching Tinkerbell movies at home, so Charlotte knew exactly who Tinkerbell was.  Charlotte was so talkative to Tinkerbell too.  The photographer could not stop taking pictures of these two cute girls.  Tinkerbell could not get enough of them either.  They had such a fun time with Tinkerbell.

We walked further into the park and found ourselves in Toon Town. This was a fun place where the kids could just run around and have fun. They only had two rides, so while we were waiting for our Fast Pass time to come up we went and played. Of course every time we see a Fire truck it is picture time for Dad. Logan was excited he got to drive it.

There were a lot of different cars and things we could play on.  This was a fun area and we spent most of the rest of the day there and let the kids just play around.  Around the buildings were funny cartoon things like this TNT activator.  We pretended to blow things up.

Toon Town was full of houses of all the cartoon characters.  Outside of Goofy's house was a fun playground.  Charlotte was in heaven playing on the slide.  The boys loved climbing on everything and Emily liked exploring the houses.

There were some other funny doors and things to try out as well.  This door sent a shocking sound through the kids every time they tried to open it.  It made them laugh every time.

Colby thought he was so strong lifting these weights.  Unfortunately he was not able to get them up off the ground.

Finally we found a place to put the kids while Russell and I went and had our own fun at Disneyland.  Just kidding but they do look like they are having fun in jail, right?
We waited in one line in Toon Town and that was for this Gadget's Go Coaster.  It was really fun.  After the ride, we explored Chip & Dale's tree house.  We also walked through Mickey Mouse's house and Minnie's house.  Finally we made our way over to Donald Duck's house and while we were there, we got to see Donald!

The kids had seen every other character except Donald so far.  Finally there he was.  He was so funny and signed all of the autograph books.  Logan kept talking to him in he Donald Duck voice.  It was great.

We rode on the Roger Rabbit ride next and then made our way back to the main part of the park.  We rode a few other rides like Casey Jr's Train, the Storybook boat ride, and a few other ones.  We headed back to the hotel to eat dinner.  I had made a bunch of crock pot freezer meals and had one cooking each day that we were in the park.  It really saved us some money as well as made dinner time really easy.

After eating, we headed back to the park to cash in our Fast Pass to Indiana Jones.  While in adventure land, we also went on the Jungle Cruise ride.  This was a fun boat ride through the jungle.  The Jungle guide was really funny and made a ton of jokes about all of the animals and things we saw on the boat ride.  After the Cruise, we headed over to Indiana Jones.  This ride is probably the most popular ride at Disneyland.  Even with the Fast Pass, we had to wait in line for a while.  Emily and Colby were the only ones tall enough to ride Indiana Jones and they absolutely loved it!  They did get kind of scared at some of the parts though but they were ready to go again once we were done.  It was an awesome ride.  My favorite part was when the boulder comes rolling at us and it feels like we are going to get smashed.

While Russell was riding Indiana Jones with Emily and Colby, Logan, Charlotte and I ran over to find a spot to watch the Disneyland night show Fantasmic.  We had a good viewing area and the show was amazing!!
During the show, Mickey was having a dream of all of the great heroes in the movies.  Then the Villains start to take over and the huge dragon of Maleficent comes out.  Finally, Mickey wins the villains because he know that good always wins and it is all his imagination.  The show was so cool because the water works were amazing. The whole show was shown on the water screens.

The best part was when the pirate ship came out and we saw Jack Sparrow and other pirates running on the deck sword fighting and doing acrobatic tricks. It was so awesome.

At the end, the steamboat came around driven by the Steamboat Willy Mickey.  The ship was full of all of the Disney characters.  It was pretty cool.  At the end, there was a huge fireworks show.  Emily and Colby loved the show and were excited to watch the whole thing.  Charlotte and Logan, however, fell asleep waiting for the show to start.  They were so tired from running around all day!  They did wake up toward the end though so they got to see some of it as well as the fireworks.

After the show, we decided to head back to the hotel and call it a night.  It had been a great second day at Disneyland.
