Happy 3rd Birthday to this cute thing! I can't believe it has been three years since Charlotte came into our family. I don't know what we would do without her. She definitely keeps us on our toes.
She is always willing to smile for the camera and sometimes she is a big cheese. All I have to say is "Smile, Char!" and she looks up at the camera and gives me a camera smile. That or she makes funny faces.
Charlotte was so excited for her birthday party this year. She even learned how to put up three fingers to show how old she is.
She wore her birthday crown all day because she was a princess.
I have always wanted to make a Barbie cake with a real Barbie in it and this was my chance. Charlotte loved her Barbie Princess cake.
I loved how it turned out. Once I found the right cake pan to use, it was pretty easy to make. Probably one of my easier cakes.
For Charlotte's birthday, we invited a few of her friends over to our house for a fire and dinner.
It was a blast. The Checketts came over and Charlotte loves everyone in their family. The Maxfield's also came. Their daughter Kayzlie is just a week older than Charlotte and they love playing together in Nursery. Their other daughter Raegan is Logan's age but Charlotte thinks she is the best person ever. She always asks if she can go play with Raegan or if Raegan can come over. Uncle Paul and Aunt Charlene also came over to celebrate along with Calen and Rochelle. We always love it when they come over.
For dinner we had Charlotte's favorite food, hot dogs, cooked over the fire. We love our little fire pit even though we don't use it as often as we would like.
When it was time for cake and ice cream, Charlotte showed off her cake. Then she took a big breath and blew out her candle. Then she dug right in to the cake or I should say the sprinkles. She didn't really care for the cake part, she just wanted to eat all of the little pearl sprinkles on the dress of the Barbie. Charlotte and Kayzlie worked together to eat off every sprinkle while the rest of us enjoyed the cake and ice cream. It was so funny to watch them sneakily pick every sprinkle off the Barbie dress.
Then it was present time. Charlotte loves opening presents!
She received some pretty awesome gifts this year. She got some clothes, a Barbie, and a snugly blanket dog from Aunt Charlene. Her big gift this year though was a new bike! She is still getting used to riding her bike. In fact, she would much rather we push her than peddle. I am sure she will get the hang of it sooner or later.
Charlotte is our happy go lucky child but she is also our stubborn child. She is happy until something doesn't go her way and then you better fix it or else. She knows what she wants and expects us accommodate to that thing right away. But she is also very sweet and loves to give me hugs and tell me she loves me. There is nothing she can't do if she wants to do it. Charlotte loves doing everything the big kids are doing and copies them on everything. (which is sometimes not the best thing...) She loves watching movies, coloring with markers (only markers), and playing outside. She is also a chatterbox and remembers everything that happens. She loves her name and tells everyone her name is Charlotte. When we first were thinking of naming her Charlotte, we thought that maybe she would have a nickname like Lottie or Charly but they never really stuck. We asked Charlotte the other day if she wanted to be called Lottie or Char or Char-Char Binks but she very forcefully said, "No, I'm CHARLOTTE!" So I guess that's what we will call her...
I also think we may have spoiled her a little too much because she is the youngest. We are realizing this may come back to hurt us in the future but how can we say no to this cute face?
Happy Birthday Charlotte! If only you could stay this size forever! I love this fun age and I love this cute girl!
