Happy 4th of July everyone! This is one of my favorite holidays mostly because I love summer.
This year because of Covid-19 basically all of the fun city traditions were cancelled. I am really getting tired of this whole pandemic thing... Well instead of having a city parade, a few families got together in the neighborhood and put on their own parade. This was great because we could just walk to the parade and see all of the kids we knew in the parade. It was small but still nice.
Afterward, we got together with the Phillip's clan for a fun afternoon of games, barbecue, and fireworks.
We love getting together with these cousins because they are so fun. We played big yard games, sack races, three-legged races, face painting, and a water balloon fight.
Charlotte loved hanging out with Charlie and Eliza. These cousins are just her age so they all had a lot of fun in the big balloon suits and eating snow cones.
Aunt Charlene even put together a pinata for all of the kids.
Emily was the muscle behind the pinata and with one swing she broke it open. All of the kids scrambled for the candy that fell out.
After a great dinner with everyone, we settled in to watch the firework show.
Calen and Jason always go all out on fireworks so they put on a pretty good show and entertained all of us. We also got to watch the Hyrum City fireworks from our backyard.
We had a great celebration despite all of the Covid restrictions. I am glad we got to get together with family and celebrate our nation's independence.
