Our New House

Here it is... our new house.  We love our new house and we are enjoying all of our new adventures here.
This is our house from the front.  Our favorite part about the whole house is the front porch.  We set out there every night and just enjoy the summer nights.  Most of the time we eat dinner out there too.

As you walk in the front door, you walk into the front living room:

I really like the wood floors.  They seem to make the house shine but they also make the house really loud. I also love the plantation shutters.

Then you walk into the dining room and kitchen:

The kitchen is a little smaller than our last house but it is still really nice and easier to clean!  All of the appliances are new so everything works great.  It is so nice to be able to use the dishwasher and have the dishes actually come out clean!

Now going down the hall:

First we come to the kids bathroom.  I found these animal print bathroom decorations on clearance and had to get them.  The kids really like them.

Then on to the kids rooms.  First Emily's room.   We were able to save the flower wall stickers from our other house and they gave Emily's room the perfect touch.

This is the boy's room.  We also saved the truck wall stickers from our old house and out them up in this new room.

Across the hall is the Master bedroom and bathroom:

The upstairs in our house is about the size of our house in St. George.  We knew that our family would most likely grow so we wanted to get a house we could grow into and also have room for visitors if they decide to come up and see us.  So now we go downstairs to the rest of the house:
As you go downstairs, you come to the family room:

This is a nice big room for company and family and play time.  As you can see we still have a few boxes to unpack but the majority is done.  Russell is going to re-stain our entertainment center to match the bookshelves which is why I have not unpacked the books and movies that go in these things.

Down the hall we first come to the Laundry room, crafts/sewing room, and pantry:

This room is also not put together because I have not wanted to unpack the sewing things yet.  But one of the major selling points to this house was the nice pantry/food storage room equipped with a built in can rotators.  There is plenty of shelve space for all of our food storage and then some.

The next room is the toy room for now:
We told the kids all the toys belonged downstairs.  They love playing in this toy room and surprisingly have kept it quite clean!  They know where everything goes and they will put everything in their places.

The next rooms are currently in the works.  First is the guest bedroom.  We don't have anything in this room yet but Russell's parents offered to help us pay for a queen mattress for some yard work Russell did for them.  So soon this room will have a bed in it for guests.

Also downstairs is another bathroom that is unfinished.  It currently only has the shower/tub insert and the plumbing.  We plan on finishing this bathroom before too much longer so that guests will have a bathroom downstairs near their bedroom.
And this is Colby's cave!  It is a little storage room under the stairs but Colby has claimed it for himself as his cave.  This is currently where the drum set resides and the spare mattress.

Well that is the inside of our house.  We really like all of the extra room and feel really spoiled by all of the nice things.  But mostly we feel spoiled because of the views out our windows.

Here is the view from the front porch.  We have the perfect shot of Blacksmith Fork Canyon.  See why we love setting on our porch every night?

And this is the view of the back yard.  We can see the mountains above Wellsville.  The lot behind us and to the side of us is vacant so we can see everything around us.  Our back yard is about the size our backyard in St. George was.  The kids love running and playing back there with Larry.  We have planted a small garden of tomatoes, radishes, carrots, beans, peas, sunflowers, and one cucumber plant.  We are hoping they grow because we are still getting used to the climate up here.

In the front yard, the previous owners had planted these beautiful orange day lilies:

I have never seen them in this color before.  They are really pretty.  There are also Irises, and Hollyhocks in the front yard too.

Here is something fun the kids did on the stairs:
Yep they made there own slide out of the water-softener box.  They had fun for hours with this box.  Who needs toys when you have boxes?

We are loving our new house and the Cache Valley area.  We have met a few of our neighbors but we are still trying to get to know everyone.
