We found our new Christmas tradition; riding the North Pole Express. This train ride was so much fun. The kids loved it. Instead of the North Pole Express, we called it the Polar Express like the book and movie.
The train we rode was the Heber Valley Railroad or the Heber Creeper. We rode on Coach 3568 and had great time. Logan absolutely loves trains so he was ecstatic. Emily and Colby were also very excited and we had to tell them to calm down a bit.
Inside the train we sang Christmas songs, drank hot chocolate, ate Mrs. Claus' famous chocolate chip cookies and rode to the North Pole. At the North Pole, we picked up Santa and he rode back to the station with us.
We got to meet Miss Claus (Santa's daughter) and she gave us Mrs. Claus' secret cookie recipe... It was love at first sight for Logan when he saw Miss Claus. He just stared and smiled at her. When she took a picture with us, Logan had to sit on her lap. I have never seen him smile so big in my life. Then he hugged her so tight and I told her it looked like she was his new crush. She just laughed.
Then we got to meet Santa! Santa was so nice and met with every kid and gave them each a bell to ring on Christmas Eve. He also took a picture with us. They kids were so excited to receive their bell and made sure to take care of it all the way home.
This was such a good experience. The kids are still talking about it and telling everyone they got to ride on the Polar Express. We can't wait to do it again next yer.
