On the way home from St. George this weekend, we decided to take a little detour and go see the lights at Temple Square in Salt Lake. This was the first time Russell and I had ever been to the lights so it was pretty amazing.
I loved all of the beautiful lights and colors that seemed to accent the gorgeous Salt Lake Temple. The kids were also in awe and pointed out all of the cool colors.
Here are a couple of fun family photos. There were so many people at Temple Square probably because it was Monday night. Anytime I got the camera out to take a picture someone instantly volunteered to take our picture so that we could all be in the photo. That was pretty nice because it seems like I am never in any of the pictures.
Here are a few more fun ones with us and the lights. There were even floating lights in the Reflection Pool. That was pretty neat.
This is probably of one of my favorite pictures. It looks like we are just walking through a forest of lights and the lights were so bright against the dark sky.
As we continued to walk through Temple Square, we were able to see many different Nativity scenes from all over the world. It was really interesting to see all of the different cultures and interpretations reflected in each of the scenes. But one thing held true in all of them; the sacredness of the birth of our Savior.
As we were leaving we saw this cool tree. If you looked at it just right, the light shining through it made the branches look like a giant spider web. We thought it was way cool.
Temple Square was a really great experience. Despite the cold, we had a great time and it was a nice break from our long drive.
