Horse Riding

For her birthday present from her friend, Ayzleigh, Emily got to join Ayzleigh for horse riding lessons.  Can I just tell you that this girl was in seventh heaven!! 

She was so excited to be riding a horse.  She didn't care at all how fast or slow or big or small the horse was, she was just so happy to be there!  For the majority of the lesson, Emily rode the little Shetland pony, Penelope.  It was the perfect sized little horse for her to learn on.

At first, Emily was lead around the arena by Ayzleigh's sister, Bentleigh.  They had a good time just walking around, getting to know the horse, and getting a feel for riding.  Can you just see that huge smile!

Then the instructor took the lead rope and ran around the arena while the horse went into a trot.  Emily said that was really fun too but harder to stay balanced on the horse.  Then it was time for the barrel racing.  Emily was lead around the barrels and loved every minute of it.  

Toward the end of the night, Emily took a turn on Ayzleigh's horse, George, while Ayzleigh rode the pony.  This horse was much bigger but Emily was still pretty confident and enjoyed every minute.  

By the end of the lesson, Emily was set on wanting to take riding lessons.  We told her it was a lot of work to take care of horses but she didn't care.  She loves horses so much.  This was one birthday present I am sure Emily will never forget.  She had a great time.
