What a fun weekend to get out of the cold and go to the warmth of St. George. Since Russell had Thanksgiving off this year, we decided to go to St. George and spend it there. We had a great time seeing all of the family. The kids even made it down in time to help Grandma Morwood finish up the last of the pies and other foods. Since the weather was nice, Russell and I got up one morning and went running. I ran four miles and Russell got up to three and walked and ran the last one. Russell says I am a running machine. I don't know about that... When Thanksgiving came, we all got on our eating game and dove right in.
As you can tell Charlotte had her fill of good food. Time out time for her. Once we had our fill of great food, it was time for pie. There was a lot of different flavors to choose from. Once we had too many pies, some of us passed out and fell asleep and others played games.
The fun thing about going down south is we get to have two Thanksgiving dinners. We also went to Grandma and Grandpa Farnsworth's house on Friday for another Thanksgiving. It was a full house also with lots of food, family and fun times to catch up on.
It is always good to see Great Grandparents when we are down, so the kids can see them and get to know them. Grandpa Maxwell's memory is fading and it is good for him to see the kids. These Grandparents mean the world to Russell and it is crazy to see them getting old and knowing that soon they will not be here.
It was also fun seeing Great Grandma Morwood and helping her set up her Christmas decorations.
While we were decorating the inside of the house, the kids went outside to help rake the leaves in the front yard. I think they had good intentions, but I think the bigger picture was they wanted to make a big pile and jump in it. That is the best thing to do with leaves. We have taught the kids well.
Once Sunday came it was back on the road again up to Hyrum and the cold. With the long trips we like to put together bags full of different activities to help the time pass for the kids.
Charlotte loves her new scissors she got from Grandma Morwood and cut a lot of paper from St. George to Hyrum. It was a great time spending the holiday with family.
