Annalynn's Baptism

This Sunday we headed down to West Jordan to attend Annalynn's baptism.  It was so nice to get out and see family after being quarantined for so long.  This baptism was definitely a memorable experience for Ann and all of us.
Because of the whole Corona Virus thing, pretty much everything has been shut down especially things that require large gatherings.  Even baptisms were postponed for months.  Now communities are gradually coming out of quarantine and small gatherings are okay as long as there are less than 30 people.  So as long as the number of people was small, the baptism was okay to go ahead with.  They were originally going to have the baptism in the baptismal font in their stake center but then those plans were changed.  Someone, who tested positive for COVID-19, went into the stake center a few days before the baptism.  Because of this, the stake center was locked down and no one could go inside.  This meant no baptism.  Thankfully though, the Stewart's bishop said they could do the baptism in his swimming pool!  So the baptism was back on and because it was outside, they could invite a few more people.  We were able to come down rather than watching it over ZOOM.
Annalynn shared her baptism day with her best friend which made it even more special.  This was such a good baptism.  I had never seen a baptism in a swimming pool before.  We were also able to FaceTime with Traci in Texas and Grandma Maxwell in St. George so they could watch the baptism as well.  This was previously not allowed but Corona changed that too.  Annalynn will definitely have a fun story to tell about her baptism.

We were so glad that we were able to attend and show our support for Annalynn's decision to be baptized.

After the baptism, we headed over to Jen's house for a fun luncheon with family and friends.  The kids had a blast with their cousins.  It was so nice to finally be able to be around other people again.  I didn't realize how much we all had missed it.
Charlotte and Kari were especially happy to see each other.  These two were inseparable the whole day.  They played together, ate lunch together, and just laughed and talked together.  I am so glad they are such good friends even though they don't see each other as often as they would like.

A couple days later, the Stewart's came up to our house for some more cousin fun time.  We decided to go down to what our kids call "The Willow Tree."  There we hiked around, climbed the tree, and threw rocks in the river.

Once again Charlotte and Kari were best buddies.  I love how all of the kids get along so well.  This was such a fun day to be with family.  I love that summer is here and we can do more things outside.  I am glad the Stewart's were able to come up and hang out.

Congratulations Annalynn on your decision to be baptized!
