Xcountry Race #2

Emily's second cross country race was held in Malad, ID.  This was the first actual season race where the Varsity and JV runners were split up.  Emily was able to run Varsity in this race which was really exciting for her.

These seven girls were the Varsity runners for this race.  They really pushed Emily to do her best and run hard.  We were excited to go to Malad and see the race.  As Emily ran, we ran around the course cheering for her and her team.

The course ran from the school grounds, up around the city cemetery, and then down around the fairgrounds.  As we stayed on the main road, we got to see Emily pass us a few times.  Then they ran back to the school around the grass field to the finish line.  You could tell Emily gave it her all because she came across the finish line completely spent.  She ran hard and did her best for the Varsity team. Emily was able to finish in 24 minutes.

Way to go girls!

This was a fun race to watch and cheer for.  The bad thing was that the air quality was bad because of smoke.  Somewhere near Idaho a wildfire was going on so there was a ton of smoke in the air which made it really hazy and hot.  The kids did really well considering the the weather conditions.

After Emily ran, we headed home while she stayed with her team and cheered on the rest of the boys and girls.  Go Mountain Crest!
