Hot Rods and Hot Dogs

Every year Hyrum City puts on a Hot Rods and Hot Dogs fundraiser for the city.  Of course we joined in on the fun!  We got to see so many cool cars:

This was Emily's favorite car, a Chrysler De Soto. It had seats that swiveled to help you get out easier.  It was really nice.

Colby and Logan favored this sporty Polaris Slingshot.  This car was pretty slick.  It only had three wheels so it was actually considered a motorcycle rather than a car.  The owners were really cool and let the kids sit in it and pretend to drive.  They loved it.

And here is a cool one we all liked.  The Hudson Hornet.  It reminded us of Doc Hudson from Cars so we had to get a picture of it too.  The car show was really fun.  

After looking at all of the fun cars and checking out the vendor booths, we walked over to the park to play for a bit.  Colby was so strong as he practiced his pull ups.  When we had seen the hot rods, we had to get our hot dog too:

What a fun lunch we had.  After eating, we went across the street to check out the Hyrum Museum. The museum attendant gave the kids an activity to do as we walked around the museum.  They had to find different things in the museum and then mark them off their sheet.  When they were done, they got a treat.  

The museum was really cool.  Colby's favorite area was the animal area.  Emily's favorite thing was the old typewriter that really worked.  She had fun typing her name and other little sentences.  It was interesting realizing that we were actually living here now and not just tourists.  We still kind of feel like tourists as we go to things like this.
