Snow Much Fun!

Who knew snow could be so much fun?  We have a little less than a foot of snow at our house right now and we have really enjoyed playing in it.  I think we might have to ask Santa for some real snow clothes, gloves, and boots this year though.

We love throwing snowballs and making snow angels.  The one crazy thing about the snow up here is that it is just powder and will not pack!  It is hard to form snowballs because it just falls apart in you hands.

On fun thing Russell taught the boys was how to built a snow cave.  They packed and dug all day until they had successfully built a cave big enough for all three of them.  OK maybe Russell did most of the work but they helped too.  They loved climbing inside and playing in the cave.

On another day, we built snowmen.  It was a lot harder that it looked because the snow would not pack properly.  Finally though we were able to form the snowmen by shaping mounds of snow.

We made three snowmen, one for each of the kids, and they got to dress them in their own stuff.  The snowmen were named Abigail, Ryder and Kelton.

Yesterday we had even more fun in the snow when we brought out our four-wheeler and pulled the kids around in a sled we borrowed from the neighbors.

It was awesome and the kids loved it until we took a turn a little sharp and they got dumped.  Then they were just wet, cold, and wanted to go in.  We love riding the four wheeler in the snow in the empty lot by our house.  We will be sad when it is developed and we can't so this anymore.
And here is Russell showing off his redneck side.  Instead of using the snow shovel to clean off the driveway and sidewalks. he pulled out the leaf blower and blew all of the snow out of the way.  I just had to laugh at him and take a picture.  Hey who needs a snow blower when you have a leaf blower right?  Can you tell we are from southern Utah!
