Happy 12th Birthday, Colby!

Happy Birthday Colby!! You are now 12 years old and growing up so fast.  Twelve will be a big year for this kids.  He is now a Deacon and the First Counselor in the Deacon's Quorum Presidency.  He was recently ordained to the Aaronic Priesthood and is passing the sacrament in church.  He also recently got his limited use temple recommend and can go do baptisms for the dead soon.  Colby is also in his final year of Elementary school and will start Middle School in August.  These are some big milestones and he is rising to the responsibility associated with them.  I am not really looking forward to having another teenager in the house but it is what it is.  It is nice though to have some big kids to help out around the house especially babysitting the younger ones.

Colby wanted just a family party this year for his birthday.  I didn't know what to do for his cake until I found this Football game cake and knew it would be perfect for Colby.  Colby loves playing football and plays it everyday at recess with his friends.  The teddy grahams made perfect football players on our field.

Colby received a bunch of good gifts like clothes, and football gloves but his big present this year was his .22 rifle.  This is another perk of turning 12 years old.  He can now take Hunter's Safety and learn to shoot and take care of a gun.  Colby was very excited about this.

His class celebrated his birthday on Friday.

He also shared the celebration with his friend, Max, whose birthday is the day before.

For his birthday activity, he wanted to go ice skating at the Eccles Ice Center.  This has become a tradition because we have done this for a few years on Colby's birthday.
Colby loves ice skating and is getting better and better each time we go.  All of the other kids love ice skating as well.  Even Brooklyn loved getting pushed around in her stroller on the ice.  This was a fun family activity.

After a good birthday dinner at Angie's we headed home for the day.  We were so stuffed from eating out that we didn't even want cake and ice cream that night.  Instead we had cake the next day before going to church.
The candles were blown out in one breath so I hope Colby's birthday wish comes true whatever it may be.  Happy Birthday Colby!  We love you.
