Happy 15th Birthday Emily!

Fifteen! 15!  Can you believe Emily is 15 years old.  What an old lady!  It's okay we will keep the old lady around.  She is good for some laughs.

Emily has been running herself ragged lately with all of the activities she is involved in.  She is rocking the mountain bike scene a 3-4 days a week and races on Saturdays.  She is also spending a lot of time at Marching Band practice 3 days a week for 2-3 hours a day.  Then on the off weeks of Mountain Bike races she has Pep Band and Band competitions.  Not to mention enjoying high school, doing homework, and practicing the piano.  We hardly ever see her anymore which is sad.  Because of her busy schedule when we asked her what kind of party she wanted she really just wanted something low key with her best friend Hahna.  So we did just that.  She did request an ice cream cake from Cold Stone though so that was a must (and so good!)

She got some fun gifts that she picked out herself.  Things like new marching drumsticks, and a funny shirt.  Hahna got her a cute necklace with drumsticks hanging on it.

Her new shirt says "I'd Rather be Reading" which is something Emily loves and has always loved to do.  Well now that she is 15, her new reading material will be the Utah Drivers' Handbook.  In order to get her Learner's Permit she has to pass a test on the information in this book.  So now she is studying this handbook as well as her other homework.  I can't believe she will be driving soon...
Wow the cake looks on fire with all of those candles!  Ha Ha! This was a really small celebration of this girl but we do love her so much. Emily is so responsible I never have to worry about her.  She is doing well in school and all of her teachers tell me they wish they had a whole class full of Emily's.  She is in the Young Women class presidency.  She is also involved in the Teen Advisory Committee for the Library.  She also wants to apply to be on the Hyrum Youth Council for 2024.  We will see how that goes in November.  Emily loves her siblings and is a great role model for them.  I am so glad she has found some good friends in Hahna and the other girls she hangs out with at school.

Happy Birthday Emily!  We love you.
