Happy 13th Birthday Colby!

Happy Birthday Colby!  I can't believe we have another teenager in our house! Colby is the big ThirTEEN! and definitely in that teen attitude phase.  Colby really is a good kid though.  He is very responsible and gets things done and keeps his grades up to a 4.0.  He is also a great Aaronic priesthood holder.  He is very good at getting to church on time to be ready to pass the sacrament and he takes this duty very seriously. He is a great example to me.  However, I told him to write this post and he grudgingly wrote a little bit:

Happy Birthday to me. It was a fun birthday. We did many things like dodge ball. One of the ways that we played dodge ball was in the dark using black lights and neon balls.  Here we are playing dodge ball using some gymnastic mats as walls/barriers.

Another thing that we did was play a big game of basketball.
This birthday I got many things but I think the best present I got was a pair of clip in mountain bike shoes that I will be able to use for the mountain bike team.
Good Job Colby.  This party was really fun and pretty easy to plan.  Colby just wanted to get together with his friends and play dodge ball and basketball.  We had originally booked the church's gym but then it ended up being the stake baptism day so we couldn't have the party there.  We finally pulled some strings and got to use the school gym which was good because we were also borrowing the dodge balls from the PE teacher and the gym mats were a plus.  It was also a good thing we were inside for the party because there was a huge blizzard going on outside!

Colby's cake was pretty fun to make. I decorated it in a camping theme with a tent and trees and even candy rocks.  Then the fire pit was where I put the candles so when they were lit, it looked like a real campfire.  I kind of love how it turned out.  The bonus was that the frosting was S'more flavored!

Happy Birthday Colby!! Enjoy being a teenager!
