7 Months, First Haircut & First Tooth!

Logan turned 7 months old today!  He is getting so big so fast.  Yesterday we had a blast playing in our little pool so I decided this would make perfect 7 month old pictures:

What a happy baby!  He loves the water and kicks and splashes the whole time he is in it.  He loves taking baths, too.  He is happiest when I am holding him and will smile and laugh and bounce all around as long as he is in my arms.  He does not like being put down or having me out of his sight.  I cannot even walk behind him or to another room without him crying.  Then when I walk back in the room or into his sight, he is happier.  I just don't know what to do with him.

Logan is sleeping better at night, thank goodness, but he still will not sleep during the day unless he is being held.  Sometimes this is a good thing though because I get a little nap in too while I am rocking him!  Ha Ha!  Logan loves eating solid foods especially cookies. His new favorite food though is corn on the cob:
Logan just kept grabbing at everything on the table while we were trying to eat.  Finally, he reached for my corn cob and we decided it couldn't hurt anything to let him have it.  Well you would have thought Logan had died and gone to heaven!  He loved that corn cob and he gnawed on it all through dinner and didn't bother our plates and food again.  Anytime we tried to tease him and take it away he would freak out.  He loved that thing!
Here is a fun picture of Logan and Cole.  These two cousins are 3 weeks apart in age.  It was fun having Cole over to play with Jess was at work.  Logan loved having another kid his size to play with.  They sat and played toys for quite a while.  Cole is almost crawling!  He is scooting around and army crawling everywhere.  Logan on the other hand is not!  He prefers to roll everywhere.  Logan can pretty much get to wherever he wants by rolling.  He gets mad when we try to teach him how to crawl.

While we were watching Cole, he decided Logan's hair was fun to pull!  Logan's hair is so funny, he just has this long patch of hair on top that we comb over. We called it his toupee.  But when Cole started pulling it, we decided it was getting too long and it was time for a haircut.  Another reason we decided it was time for a hair cut was because the comb over was reaching his ears and was getting in his eyes.  Definitely time for his first haircut.

Here are the before pictures.  You can see that his little comb over was getting quite long.  And now for the first snip:

Poor little thing didn't want to get his hair cut... He had worked his whole life getting his hair that long!  (Actually I think he was crying because Russell took the comb he was playing with away from him.)  And here is our handsome little man after his first haircut:

Doesn't he look so much better!  More grown up and more of a handsome little man!  It took me awhile to get used to his new do because he looked like a totally different boy.  His long hair was really dark brown like when he was born but as it grew, the roots were a lighter brown almost blond color.  So he had natural highlights in his hair.  Now that we cut off all of his dark baby hair, his hair is blond and not as soft as his baby hair was.  He looks more like Colby now I think.  When looking at Colby's baby pictures and Logan now, they look alike except for different colored eyes.  Look how much hair we cut off: Almost 3 inches!

Another fun thing that has happened this month is Logan is getting his first two teeth!  His two bottom teeth have just poked through.  Emily and Colby didn't get their first tooth until they were 10 months old but Logan seems to be an early bloomer and got his at 7 months.  No wonder he has been so ornery and clingy lately.  I love seeing his little white teeth when he smiles at me.

Logan loves doing what his big brother and sister are doing.  The other night we were reading a story about a dinosaur and how the dinosaur was learning the difference between this inside and outside roar.  After reading the book, I asked Emily and Colby to show me their outside roars.  They roared so loud!  Then Logan didn't want to be left out so he did a little roar/scream too!  Then he smiled so big like he thought he was so cool.  Then all three of them were roaring at each other and we were laughing so hard.

We love you, Logan!
