CCLR

This CCLR race is starting to become a new family tradition for the Farnsworth family. We have done this race ever since we moved up here and have loved it. The kids work hard all summer running in the running club getting in shape and ready for the big day.
This year everyone ran the one mile race except me, I ran the 5K.  Everyone must have felt great during the race because we all came away with personal bests.  Colby ran his mile in 8:56 minutes, Logan was around 10 minutes with Russell and Charlotte, and Emily ran hers in 9:45 minutes.  They all did awesome.  I ran my 5K in 25:11.  While this is not my best time ever, it is my best time since getting back into running after cancer. We were all happy with our results.

After the race, we enjoyed a yummy spaghetti dinner and crossed our fingers for the prize drawings.
Logan even got to high-five the Colt mascot!  We did win some fun prizes like movie tickets, dinner gift cards, and free Crazy Bread at Little Caesars.  We were happy with our prizes even though we didn't win the grand prizes of a Blackstone grill or a rowing machine.  Oh well maybe next year.

Because this is a fundraiser, the kids all got pledges from people.  For this reason, the school also has a one mile run during school for all of the kids to participate if they couldn't participate in the actual race.  These fourth grade girls had too much fun running again the next day:

I love how our school keeps the kids active and having fun during school.  They are learning so much everyday and it is nice to have a fun break too.  We love running!
