Our Incredible Halloween

We hope everyone had an incredible Halloween this year.  We had a blast preparing for and celebrating Halloween.  We especially loved making and wearing our costumes:
We were The Incredible's!  This is Colby's new favorite movie and always asks to watch his "Superhero" movie.  We have the perfect family size to be The Incredible's too.  Russell was Mr.. Incredible, I was ElastiGirl, Emily was Violet, Colby was Dash, and Logan was Baby Jack-Jack.  I had fun making the costumes and the nice thing about it was they were quite simple and the clothing is something we can wear sometime other than Halloween.  Don't we look "Incredible"!!!!

Other than our awesome costumes, we did a lot of fun Halloween activities this year.  First, we had our Joy School Halloween party at our house this year:

At the party we had a Minion (Eric White), two Rapunzel's (Eva Joseph and Rylie Stanley), and two Incredible's.  After taking pictures of the kids, we learned about the letter "H" for Halloween and Haunted Houses!  Then we made Haunted Houses!  Each of the kids got to decorated their House with ghosts, witches and any other spooky thing they wanted.  We also made ghosts suckers and had treats.  I made pumpkin shaped rice crispies, and banana ghosts.  I had also planned to play Halloween BINGO, but the kids had too much fun decorating their houses and eating their treats.  It was a fun party.

Another fun tradition is carving our pumpkin of course!

All three of these kids had a blast carving the pumpkin.  They loved digging in all of the pumpkin goo and pulling it out with their spoons.  One funny thing about our pumpkin was that it had a pumpkin growing inside of it!  One of it's seeds had sprouted and was growing a green leaf.  We decided our pumpkin was a girl and she was pregnant!  (*Yes, I just realized I spelled pregnant wrong on the picture.  I can't fix it without recreating the whole collage and don't really want to do that.  Just know I really do know how to spell.   Sorry...)
This last week was also the Dixie College homecoming week.  At the parade, the kids got soooo much candy that I was able to fill our Halloween bag with free parade candy!  Too bad I had already bought candy for the trick-or-treaters.  Well instead of throwing out candy at the parade, one of the dentists in town handed out spooky vampire teeth!  Here are Emily and Colby showing off their spooky teeth.  When we turned out the lights, we realized that the teeth glowed in the dark so we took a spooky picture of that too.

October 30 was our ward's Trunk or Treat.  The Primary is in charge of this ward party which means I was in charge of it!   Last year we did the Trunk or Treat on Halloween and it stunk for us because we couldn't do anything else besides the Trunk or Treat.  Learning from last year, I decided to do the Trunk or Treat the day before Halloween instead.  This worked out so much better I thought.  I even think we had a better turnout this year than last.

Here is our Incredible family by our trunk.  This year we had a trunk contest and gave out prizes for the best decorated trunks.  Russell made a little yarn spider web in the back of our van.  I thought it was pretty cool but it was nothing compared to some of the awesome trunks our ward members did.  I should have taken pictures of the winners.  We also did soup and bread bowls this year and let me tell you we had so many great soups.  I feel like the Trunk or Treat was a definite success.  We even had a lot of non-members or less active families come out which is always great.

As you can tell, we had a blast at the Trunk or Treat.

The next day was Halloween.  Emily had a Halloween party and parade at her preschool so she got back into her Violet costume.  Colby didn't want to be left out and insisted that he wear his Dash costume too.  Well I decided why not wear our costumes all day long.  That is just what we did.  Even I wore my Incredible shirt.
While we were waiting for the parade to start, Colby was acting just like Dash on the movie.  He was running so fast and fighting other superheros and villains.  Finally the preschool came parading out:

Ms. Mitchell looked awesome in her banana costume and all of the kids looked awesome in their costumes as well.  Colby, Logan and I watched them parade through the halls of the school getting treats from the principal, librarians and secretaries.  Then we ran outside so see them parade back to their classroom.

Here are all of the cute kids in Emily's class.  There was even another Mr. Incredible in her class!  Her little class is so fun.  I had the opportunity to volunteer in her class on the 30th and it was so much fun.  The kids are really friendly and they love school and they love learning.  It was also nice to meet all of the kids Emily talks about each day.  (Oh yeah remember Trent the boy Emily said she was going to marry?  He is the boy in the zebra costume.)

After school, we headed to the library for another Halloween activity.

I thought it was going to be another parade and party but it just turned out to be a normal story time where all the kids wore their costumes.  That was okay, Emily and Colby still loved it.  They even got to "Trick or Treat" to all of the librarians' desks and get little prizes.

After the library, I took the kids trick-or-treating to Russell's work and my work.  Everyone loved seeing us in our costumes and we loved getting candy!

We finally came home and we all took naps for like three hours!!! That never happens!  Finally at 5 o'clock Colby woke up and we decided to go Trick-Or-Treating.  Since we had already done the Trunk or Treat thing, we just went Trick-or-Treating to family.  We started at Grandma's:

We also went to Grandma and Grandpa Farnsworth's, and the Pryor's before picking up Russell from work.  At Tami's, we saw Jessica and Cole in his way cute puppy costume.  After getting Russell we went to the Bassett's and then up to Grandma and Grandpa Morwood's.  The kids loved getting even more candy!

We had an Incredible and fun Halloween this year.  Happy Halloween from the Incredible Farnsworth Family!!!
