Big Trucks!

Well they have started construction on the field in our backyard.  Soon our amazing view of the Wellsville Mountains will include our backyard neighbors' houses.  Right now though they are just working on building a road.

One awesome thing about it is we have a front row viewing area of all of the construction.  The boys absolutely LOVE going outside and watching the big trucks dig, grade, plow, and move dirt and big objects around.  They love watching the loaders, backhoes, graders, and water trucks level out the ground in preparation for the new road.  To tell you the truth, I have enjoyed watching the construction too!  I guess it just brings back fun childhood memories of driving in the truck with my dad and helping him haul loads and build roads.

The bad thing about it is it has stirred up the ground in that field and the pesky little field mice have once again found our window wells.  We have caught about three or four more in there.  And I found out how they get out of the window well.  The tricky devils slowly climb up the screen and then jump as far as they can to get over the side of the window well.  If they miss, they try again.  Eww.

Some more good news though, when they started construction on the lot, we tried even harder to get a hold of the owner to try and see if we could buy a little portion of the property from him for a place to put our trailers.  Right now we have just been parking them on the vacant lot but now we figured it would be better if we actually owned the portion we were using.  So we finally got the real owner and gave him a proposal for 12 extra feet along our property line and (fingers crossed) it looks like we just might get it.  He is waiting to see how the plots lay out and then he can do a boundary change if everything works out.  We really hope it does because it will definitely add value and space to our property, not to mention a huge RV parking and garden spot.  We shall see...
