Colby's 5th Birthday

Can you believe it, Colby is 5 years old!  Where has the time gone?
Look how big he is getting.  Colby is such a smart boy.  He learns very quickly and can do pretty much anything he puts his mind to.  He is learning so much in preschool and can read and write and count and do everything he needs to do before going to kindergarten.  Colby cannot wait to go to kindergarten this year.  In fact, he wants to start right now!  Colby loves building things and playing with his Lego's.  He is into super heroes as well.  He loves riding his bike and doing pretty much anything "boy."
For his birthday party this year Colby wanted a Lego party.  So that's what we did.

This year Colby's birthday was on a preschool day and since it was at our house that day we decided to have a birthday party instead of school.  OK we did a little bit of learning too like counting and sorting Lego's.  We decorated yellow balloons like Lego heads and played some fun Lego themed games.

We played "Pin the Head on the Lego Man" and had Lego spoon relay races.  We also built towers and houses out of Lego's.

We also played a fun game of Lego Twister.  It was so funny to watch the kids play.  They don't know their lefts and rights so I just called foot or hand.  They had so much fun but had to take little breaks in between games.  Then for the craft, we made our own Lego Mini figures.

Here are the cute kids showing off their Lego men.  Then we finished off the party with cake and ice cream.  I love how the Lego cake and cupcakes turned out and Colby was so excited to see the finished cake.

When Emily and Russell got home, Colby opened his presents.  He loved everything he received including more Lego's, a Camelback, flashlight and binoculars.

He especially loved his new skateboard!  The only thing he really wanted for his birthday was a skateboard so he was so happy.  The first thing he wanted to do was go outside and ride it.  Colby actually does a pretty good job of riding his skateboard.  Much better than I can do!  So there you have it; a future skater!
That night we had even more cake and ice cream with the family.

Happy Birthday Colby.  We love you so much!!
