Baby Animal Days

I took the kids to the Baby Animal Days at the American Heritage West Center again this year.  They love seeing all of the baby animals and had a blast petting and holding them.
The day we went was a preview day for all of the gold membership members.  Because of this, we did not get to see all of the baby animals like the rabbits, turtles, and bears but we still had a good time.  I think the kids favorite animals to pet were the baby chicks and ducklings.

The chicks and ducks were so soft and cuddly.  They just peeped and chirped at us.  The kids were so gentle with them too.  Lucky Logan even got pooped on by the baby chick he was holding.  He was done with the chicks after that and moved on to the ducklings.
A new fun thing we got to do at the farm was pan for gold. Even though the water was freezing our hands, the kids loved panning for gold.  We were able to find a piece of "gold" for each of us.  We struck it rich.

Next the boys wanted to feed the donkey and goats.  They went right in the pen and right up to the animals to pet them.  I was really impressed with Colby.  Usually he is afraid of the animals but he was very friendly to these animals and not scared one bit.  He fed and petted them and was really gentle with them.
It would not be a trip to the American Heritage West Center without a ride on the ponies.  These kids have ridden on these gentle ponies every time we come here and they love it.  They could ride them all day.

Finally we took a ride on the train.  This is another fun thing we do every time we come.  We always save the train ride until last though because for some reason every time Colby rides the train, his allergies start acting up. His eyes get really itchy and by then it is time to go home.

We love having fun at the farm and visiting the American Heritage West Center.  We especially love playing with the baby animals.
