Music Recitals

Emily and Colby have been working so hard learning to play the piano this last year.

Emily was able to participate in the Utah Music Teachers Association's Achievement in Music (UMTA's AIM) program.  She was a Level I participant and did very well on all of her requirements.  She had to demonstrate her skills in scales, sight reading, ear training, theory, and performance.  She did very well in all of those areas and scored a 96%!  This enabled her to move on to the 2nd level for next year.
At the year end concert, her piano teacher had each of the students perform one of the two songs they memorized and performed at AIM.  Emily chose "Dancing" and did very well.

Her teacher was very happy of Emily and all of her students for passing their levels and doing so well at AIM.  Each student was given a medal for their hard work.  Good Job Emily!
Emily also had her year end Choir concert at the school.  They sang a lot of fun songs from different Disney movies.  The kids did a great job.

Colby has also been learning the piano this year in his Let's Play Music class.  He has really pick it up fast and is learning how to play very quickly.  His year end recital was April 29th.

Colby did very well playing "The Caterpillar Song" during his performance.  He also played the bells during the song "Snowflakes are Falling."
Colby received his certificate for completing the second year in Let's Play Music.  Next year he will continue to learn more about playing the piano in the third year program.  At first piano was hard for Colby because his hands were a little too small for the keys but he worked so hard at strengthening his fingers and hands.  Now playing the chords and scales are very easy for him.  Keep practicing and playing the piano the best you can, Colby!

Good Job Emily and Colby.
