Happy 5th Birthday Charlotte

Happy Birthday Charlotte!  I can't believe you are already five!  You have grown up so much this year and are a great big sister.
Charlotte is our little sassy pants.  Things have to go her way or we all hear about it.  Now sometimes that is good in that she is very confident and likes things a certain way.  She doesn't let anyone walk on her.  Most of the time though, it is a power struggle.  We really have a 5 going on 15 year old here.  Well we still love her and don't know what we would do without her sass and smile.

For her birthday this year she wanted to go swimming.  Well that was perfect because we were going to be in St. George for Labor Day.  We called up Terral and asked if we could have a birthday party at her pool and she said of course!

Charlotte was so excited to have a birthday party with her cousins and grandparents.  Mostly though she was excited to be in the water.  It was all we could do to get her out of the pool so that she could open her presents and thank everyone for coming.  She was not even interested in cake and ice cream which is saying a lot for this sugar addict.  Well we all had a good night swimming and hanging out together.

For her cake she wanted a unicorn cake.  We even found unicorn sprinkles.  We made multicolored cupcakes for the pool party so that they looked like unicorn colors. Then we sprinkled them with the unicorn sprinkles.  She said they were perfect.

On her actual birthday, the seventh, Charlotte had to go to school.
That was okay though because she loves school.  She got to be the leader and wear a birthday crown.  We even brought treats to share that day and she got to pick out of the treasure box!

After school, she wanted to go on a four-wheeler ride so we did.
All of the other kids were in school so it was just a fun ride with Mom and Dad and Brooklyn.  We rode up Left Hand Fork to the springs.  This was a beautiful area.  As we rode we got to see all of the Fall leaves changing colors.  Brooklyn was a champ on her first four-wheeler ride and slept most of the way.

When we got home, it was present and cake time.

Charlotte loved all of her gifts, a new scooter, a water bottle, a Barbie, and even a Beanie-Boo from Logan.  Her cake was also a hit.  More Unicorn sprinkles and Funfetti cake!
Before it got too dark, she took a few spins around the front yard on her new scooter.
A few days later, her friend, Everett, had his birthday.  They celebrated together with more cake and ice cream.  These two love playing together and get along really well.

Now that Charlotte is five, there are a lot more things she can do.  When ever I would try to teach her something like reading or tying her shoes, she would tell me she couldn't learn because she wasn't five yet.  Well now that she is five, it is time to learn.  I told her she needed to learn how to tie her shoes now that she is five and she looked at me and said, "Well maybe I'll wait until I'm eight..."  I laughed and said nope its time to learn now.  Well, five must be the magic age because she can now tie her shoes and read.

Happy 5th birthday!!
