Unplugged Summer: Part 2

This Summer has been full of fun adventures to earn brag tags. One of the brag tags the kids wanted to get was the bus riding tag. We got to ride on the city's bus system. We got up early and headed into town to make it to the 10 o'clock bus to the University. The kids were so excited because it was their first time on a bus. The weather was looking like rain so we are glad that we rode the bus.
We rode the bus to the Eccles Art Museum on the campus of USU and toured the art museum.

This filled another brag tag requirement.  The museum had awesome exhibits that all of us got to see. At the end of the tour they had a fun art station for the kids that visited. So each of them got to make their own cool art. Colby made a cool tree with different colors of leaves showing all of the different seasons. Emily made an awesome birds nest with eggs in it, and Logan made, of course, Thomas the Train with different colored papers and rocks as wheels. Once they got done making them, they put it on display so other people could see them. It was a great time.
After the tour we were so close to the Aggie ice cream that we decided to go there and get some. The funny thing was it was raining really hard and we had to run really fast to get there before we were soaking wet. We all laughed because we were eating ice cream when it was cold and raining. The whole adventure was a blast and once the ice cream was gone we rode the bus back into town.

Another day, we met with the Cache Valley Volunteer Center at the Riverwalk Park and did some service and played.  The kids wanted to take these fun pictures behind the big tree.

I do not know what we would do if there were no parks to play in. These kids love to play at any park they see especially ones that have a river nearby to play in when it is hot. This summer has been a very unusual summer for us as Farnsworth's because usually it is either mom or dad taking the kids around to play and now the majority of the time it is the whole family together. We have been truly blessed to have this. Here are the three yahoos now playing in the river having a blast.

This river is just about a mile up the road from our house.  We found it one day when we were running down the Blacksmith Fork Canyon and ever since then, Colby has wanted to go back and play in the water.  It is a really nice spot and the water is pretty calm in this area so it is perfect for wading.

In these pictures above, the kids are pretending to be rowing their pirate ship and fighting off river monsters (alligators, snakes, and sharks) with their sticks.

Another fun brag tag we earned this summer was the Monkey Hunter.  To earn this, we had some fun adventures at the Willow Park Zoo!  Logan city has a really great zoo that people can go to and see all different kinds of animals. The kids have been wanting to do this for a while and we finally got to go.  Once they were in the park, they needed to find to coolest animal in the zoo and take a picture of it. Colby and Logan loved the big turtle, so this is their picture.

Emily loved the peacocks and their amazing colors.  Here is her picture.

Through out the zoo we got to see porcupines, raccoons, a Bald eagle, monkeys, elk, ducks, a big lizard, two owls and more. The kids had a blast watching all of the different types of animals.

Logan was funny, he wanted to know and learn everything, so at every animal he would ask, "Mom, Dad what is that animal?" He knew some but there were some hard ones.  We loved seeing all of the animals at the zoo.  It is fun having something like this so close to home so we can go more often.

We have had fun earning brag tags through out the summer.  We have earned about 47 brag tags this summer and have about 10 more to go until school starts.  I can't believe the summer is almost over.   Only a couple weeks left until school starts,
