The Big 4-0

The big 4-0... I am getting so old...
For my birthday, Russell and the kids got me some awesome gifts like a new crock-pot, toilet paper:

and a t-shirt celebrating my age.  Yes, they are all perfect things to buy an old lady.  All necessities (and, okay, all funny!) Actually I was quite excited about the crock-pot.  (What a weirdo!)

On my birthday, we headed up to Bear Lake with the rest of the Farnsworth clan.  They were having a big family reunion up there at Dawnette's place over the holiday weekend.
It was nice getting together for breakfast and seeing cousins we hadn't seen for a while.

After breakfast we all headed to Bear Lake to spend the day at North Shore. This was the highlight of the day.  We all love Bear Lake.

The kids had a great time playing with their cousins, building sand castles, playing in the water, kayaking, swimming and just enjoying the lake.  Traci and her kids were in town from Texas so it was really great to see them.  I loved spending my birthday doing the things I love: being with family and being outdoors. The only thing missing was the raspberry shake.

We left Bear Lake around 4:00 and headed to Dawnette's place nearby.  There we ate dinner, and had cake and ice cream with everyone.
Traci and Jen had gotten me this big cake which was really nice.  While everyone sang, "Happy Birthday," I couldn't help but smile and enjoy the moment.  Even though I am getting old, I am going to embrace it!

We spent the rest of the night playing games together.

The grand-kids played an exciting game of Uno with Grandma and Grandpa while the adults and older grand-kids played a few rounds of Ultimate Spoons, BS, and Spit on Your Neighbor. It was all quite intense and there was blood drawn while fighting over the spoons.  We also did not realize what a good liar Dawnette was until we finished BS.  And, we all know that Sean cheated to win at Spit on Your Neighbor whether he will admit it or not.  Ha Ha!

We all had a great time and it was a great birthday.  Cheers to being done with the thirties and looking forward to the forties whether I want to or not!
