Soda Pong

Russell is an advisor in the Priest Quorum in our ward so on Wednesday nights he goes to the Young Men activities. Last night they came to our house for the activity, a rousing game of "SODA PONG!"

If you have never played Soda Pong, you are seriously missing out! Russell and I had never even heard of it before. It is actually based on a beer drinking game but since we don't drink beer, we use soda. What you do is you have two teams of two. One team member is diagonally across a ping pong table from the other team member. Set up three cups of soda on the ping pong table next to each player and one cup of water in the middle of the table. Then each team has a ping pong ball that they try and throw into their team's cups of soda on the opposite side of the table. Every time you make the ball into the cup of soda, the other team has to drink that cup and then tap the cup over and have it land upside down before they can start throwing the ball again, but your team can keep going. Once your team has gotten rid of all six of your cups, you have to get the ping pong ball into the cup in the middle of the table by having it bounce twice. Once you do this, you are the winner. Sounds complicated but its really not, I mean it is a beer drinking game! Any way it is so fun.

Everyone got involved, the boys even got the bishop and me to join their teams. Russell and Zach were the undefeated champions but Spencer and I had the best game. We got rid of all of our cups and won the game in record time, before the other team even got rid of one! It was awesome. Then, when we played Russell and Zach, we were neck in neck the whole time. In fact they made their ball into the middle cup just right before ours! It is definitely a crazy fun game. Afterward we had yummy Root Beer floats with the leftover pop. The priests are going to be playing again in a few weeks for one of the boy's birthday. Maybe they will let me tag along again!
