With Thanksgiving approaching quickly, my mom wanted to get a head start on the preparations by making the pies in advance. She asked me to come over and help her roll out the pie crusts so she could freeze them. Grandma also got a lot of help from her two little helpers: Emily and Colby!
We brought over Emily's baking supplies like her apron, mixing bowl, pastry mat, whisk, spatula, cookie cutters, and of course her rolling pins. She had a blast rolling her dough with her rolling pin and cutting out stars and hearts with her cookie cutters. Colby also loved playing with his own rolling pin. We didn't give him any dough to roll because I knew he would just eat it. Mostly he just loved banging the rolling pin on the counter. What great helpers! My mom made about 6 pies and probably 10 or more pie crusts this day. Bring on Thanksgiving!!
