Getting Lost in the Corn Maze

Now that fall is in the air, we are enjoying the cooler weather and having fun outdoors.  One of our favorite Fall traditions is going to the Corn Maze at the American West Heritage Center.  The kids were really excited to go.  This year was really fun because we let them guide us through the maze.

Walking through the corn was pretty exciting.  Colby kept running ahead of us and finding the way around.  He loved being the leader.

We wandered around for a while and then finally got out the map and started navigating through the corn.  Emily was the first designated navigator.  She did really well following the map and getting us to the first checkpoint.  We had to help her a little to show her were we were on the map and how to hold the map in the right direction. After that she was on the right road.

Colby and Logan each had their turns at navigating too.  They both did great at telling us which way to go when we asked them right or left.  Along the way they had a good time collecting old ears of corn and packing them around.  Finally toward the end, Colby ran ahead and found his own way to the exit of the maze.  He wanted to win everyone.  Emily gave him a good race to the end.

Once we made it through the maze, we went to check out the activities on the Farm.

The kids especially loved the huge bouncy balls and bounced everywhere on them.  Charlotte loved the balls and even the bouncy cows too.

Emily got to try out the huge human bowling balls.  She said they were fun but really heavy and hard to get back up in. While she was rolling around in the ball, Colby and Logan were practicing there BB gun shooting skills. We also liked taking photos in the photo props.

Next Logan enjoyed jumping in the inflatable cow.  He even showed everyone how he could do flips in the air. He and Colby were showing off for everyone.

Before heading home, we took a ride on the ponies and the train.  While on the train, Logan wanted to sit next to the skeleton.  Because no one else wanted to, he got to have his own seat.  He was pretty excited to sit by Mr. Skeleton.

We all had a great time at the Corn Maze and we always have fun at the American Heritage West Center.
