The Farnsworth's Go To Tropic

Fun times had by all Farnsworths at the reunion up at Tropic reservoir. We went up there for about three days and had a great time with everyone. It was the first trip we took with our new trailer. The trailer was a success because it rained a lot and it was great to get out of the rain.  On the way there, we drove through these cool little tunnels in the rocks.
The best part was seeing all of the little kid cousins playing around and making memories. It reminded me of the times when I was that age and having no cares in the world to just play and get dirty.
While we were at camp, we had to eat good. Each of the families were in charge of two meals and cook it. It was a great time for all of us to sit and talk and catch up. Uncle Ron reminded us all of Grandma Farnsworth and how she made the best potato salad and Tang. My Dad had to tell him to hold off on the Tang for a bit. Funny Uncle Ron.

During the trip, Grandma Farnsworth brought fun little foam swords for the grand kids to play with. They all had a great time playing and whining from getting hurt. Yes Grandma Farnsworth spoils them with toys and treats. The funny man with the beard is Tyler. While were at camp I called him little Lepy. Short for leprechaun. He has a very deep red beard.

There was a lot of card games going all day and into the night. We also threw four wheeling in there for fun. Funny story. My Dad and I went on a short ride because we knew the storm was coming in. Once we got to a spot we looked up and thought if we go any farther we will be right in the storm. Oh the storm showed us we were wrong. Just as we were heading down the trail, a big thunder hit and minutes after a huge rain storm hit us. We went as fast as we could to get back. I was getting soaked and then I had a light bulb moment. I had a rain poncho. I put mine on and found Dad and he put one on and we went as fast as we could back to camp. It was a fun ride. Both Dad and I were grinning and laughing the whole way.

It was finally a nice day, so we decided it was a great day for a hike. There were a couple of trails near our camp. One was the Key Hole Arch and the other one was Chimney Rock. It was about a 4 mile round trip hike to see both of them.

Everyone got their waters, sunblock and hats and off we went. We should have been smart and went in the early morning instead of the middle of the afternoon though. The whole hike was a lot of fun. While hiking, the kids found hiking sticks and stick guns and rocks to throw. We even found a fun little Horny Toad running around. It has been along time since I have caught one of these, so I figured I would give it a chance. I CAUGHT IT!!! The kids were way excited to see the lizard and hold it. All the kids did a great job the whole hike. If I remember right, I don't think one kid complained.

Here we are at the top of the trail looking out over the area where we were camping. It was an amazing view to see.

We, of course, had to take pictures of everyone to say we had been there. The coolest picture was the one of all of my sisters and brother. I think it has been awhile since we have had a sibling picture.

Here is some of the scenery we got to see:

The kids thought it was way cool how the rocks were formed. The key Hole Arch was cool to see. We got to see some of the Chimney rock, but it was cover by other rock features.

Here we are at the actual area where we could see the Key Hole. We made it!! It was a fun little hike and the Keyhole was cool to see.  It is amazing how all of these rocks are formed.
Of course we had to hike back down and it is amazing how it does not take to long to go back. Charlotte passed out and the other kids were starting to get hungry and tired. Once we made it back to camp it was food time and relax time.

The whole reunion was a blast and of course work has to get in the way of everything. We had to pack up on Saturday early and then drop off the trailer at Fish Lake for the next family get together. next weekend.
