Decorating the Tree

Christmas came so fast this year. It felt like we just had the Christmas.  The kids were so excited though and as soon as the calender said December, they were begging us to get the Christmas Tree out and all of the Christmas decoration.  So that's what we did.

We didn't know where to put the Christmas tree this year because we got a new couch that took up the space where we had always put the tree before.  Finally we just decided to put it against the wall near the entrance to the hall because that was really the only place for it.  We do have to walk around it now but that's all right.

Each of the kids took turns putting up the ornaments on the tree.  They loved picking out their favorite Hallmark ornaments and getting the hooks on and finding the prefect spot on the tree.  They pretty much decorated the whole tree by themselves.  They no longer need us to help them.  We did move a few ornaments around though so that there would be some ornaments near the top and not just all on the middle and bottom (the places they could reach).  We did discover that our tree and decorations are getting old...  Some of the lights on the tree no longer light up and the star that Russell and I got for our first Christmas has finally died and no longer lights up.  We decided to keep it for one more year though and put it on top of the tree.
I love how the tree turned out and so do the kids.  Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
