Our Garden

We planted our garden a few days ago.  It was a fun Family Home Evening.  Emily and Colby loved digging in the dirt and getting messy.

Russell showed Emily how to dig the holes deep enough and wide enough to put the little plants inside.  He then showed her how to gently put the plants in the holes and bury them.  She had a blast planting the garden.

We planted tomatoes, a green pepper, zucchini, squash, a watermelon, and strawberries.  Earlier we planted peas as well.  I hope everything grows this year because I love home grown vegetables so much better than store bought.  Emily reminds us everyday that we need to water her garden.  Now we just need to keep the bugs and weeds out of the garden and pray everything grows.  Hooray for being self-sufficient!
