Monsoon Season: Texas Trip Day 4

Our next day in Texas was spent just hanging out with cousins. It was raining most of the day so there was not a lot we could do. In the morning we drove around to some Army Surplus stores because Colby wanted to buy a pocket knife as a souvenir. The guys also went to an ammo store and were in heaven because they couldn't believe the prices. Russell was sad because there was no way we could bring home ammo on the airplane. Then Sean's dad said he would drive the ammo out to Utah on his way to Oregon a month later. Russell and Keith bought the store out well at least got their limit and were happy. Crazy guys and their guns...

When we got back to Traci's house, the kids were having a blast with each other.  Grandma and grandpa had gotten them all Popsicles and sent them outside.

We also got to spend some more time with Olivia. She and Brooklyn had fun playing or I guess laying together on the blanket. Looking at this picture you would think that Brooklyn and Olivia are the same age. Actually though, they are two months apart. Brooklyn is three months old and Olivia is three weeks old! The Grandparents felt spoiled by holding their granddaughters. It is funny to think how we will soon have three granddaughters/girl cousins that will be only months apart. Tyler and Ashley's baby will be born soon.

We all had a good time holding and playing with Olivia.

Traci had a great idea for an activity that everyone could have fun with. She bought a whole bunch of white t-shirts and we spent the day tie dying. She got blue and red dye for the 4th of July. All of the cousins had a great time coloring their shirts.

We made some really cool designs and they turned out awesome. It was fun to see the adults getting into it as much as the kids. Some made their shirt quick by just putting it in a ball and others took their time and made their shirt look cool. Once the shirts were dyed we hung them out over the fence and we waited until they were completely dry to take them off. We were very impressed to see how awesome they looked.
During the tie die activity we watched the storm come in and it looked very dark. Not long after we cleaned up, lots of thunder and rain came down. It was raining so hard we could have taken a shower in the rain.

All of the cousins took off running to play in the rain. They were all soaked to the bone. It is always amazing to see the rain storms in the south. It was like a monsoon while we playing around out in the back yard. We definitely do not get this much rain in the Utah desert.  Another good day in Texas.
